A CLASS FOR BIRTHING PARENTS ENTERING MOTHERHOOD FOR THE FIRST TIME

This is a 6-session class to prepare you for the 4th trimester, transitioning into motherhood and beyond. Many new parents (myself included) have asked in exasperation “Why doesn’t anyone talk about this?!” when expressing the surprise and frustration they experience in their transition to parenthood and caring for a new baby.

Becoming a new parent doesn’t have to be filled with surprise, frustration, isolation or a sense a failure. With preparation and guidance you can anticipate and prepare for the major changes that come with the arrival of a new baby, and meet that arrival with confidence.

In this class you will:

  • learn and practice self-regulation strategies

  • examine your values and roles and how they may intersect with parenting

  • learn about matresence (i.e. the process of becoming a mother) and what it means for you

  • identify your support network

  • plan for and identify the supportive and nurturing aspects that you need to be at your best

  • anticipate how your new role as mother may change or influence your sense of self

  • receive guidance on the must-have conversations to have with your partner before baby comes

  • identify your current routines and how to adapt your routines for success once you are caring for a new baby

  • be prepared for the changes to come by anticipating those changes with the tools, strategies, self wisdom and adaptations needed to journey through the early stages of motherhood

Understanding the pregnancy journey and planning for birth are essential. And so is preparing for postpartum!

Every new mother deserves a supportive and nurturing transition into one of the most sacred roles there is, motherhood.

What is it going to look like, feel like, be like once baby get’s here? How will I respond to the changes? Who will be there to support me? What kind of mother do I want to be? We will explore these questions and more so you can be postpartum prepared!

TUMMY TIME CLASS - Next Offering is November 2025

FOR PARENTS & PRE-CRAWLING BABIES

The Tummy Time! Method was developed by Occupational Therapist, Michelle Emanuel, to address the various challenges that can accompany this belly down position and to empower parents to be facilitators of their infant’s movement development. In this class fellow Occupational Therapist, Maria Bossert, brings this method to you, so you too can approach your child’s development with confidence! This group is not only for becoming a master of tummy time and nurturing your infant’s development, it is also an opportunity to meet other families and grow into your new role as parent. This class benefits babies and parents alike as it was designed for babies who struggle with tummy time, but actually provides developmental benefits for pre-crawling babies at all skill levels.

In this class you will:

  • learn how to do the Tummy Time! Method so you can implement it in your everyday play with baby

  • get individualized feedback and support from Maria based on what you or your baby are needing to fully succeed with tummy time

  • understand why being belly down is crucial to baby’s sensory and motor development

  • gain confidence and observational skills to facilitate tummy time and movement success for your infant (even if your baby hates tummy time!)

  • meet other families who are going through the same thing as you - sometimes being a new parent is isolating, but you are not alone!

  • learn how to play with your baby and make tummy time fun
